Most innovations in surgery in fact come with small rather than large changes. Small changes and improvements in the way an operation is performed can be more effective than dramatic changes that leave the old method entirely behind.

Minimally invasive operations are possible in abdominal surgery. Compared with open methods, laparoscopy has advantages such as less pain, faster recovery and a smaller surgical scar.

Robotic surgery, which is spreading rapidly today, emerged as the result of research carried out in order to overcome the limitations of traditional laparoscopy and to reduce the adverse effect of the operation on the body to a minimum, without in any way compromising the safety and effectiveness of the operation.

Surgery Without a Scar

With robotic surgery, the great majority of operations are now performed through incisions of about 0.8 cm. After the operation, the scars from these incisions reach a level within 6-12 months at which they cannot be noticed when looked at from a distance. Over periods longer than a year they disappear to the point of no longer being visible to the eye.

In some hysterectomy and ovarian cyst operations, the surgery can be performed through only a single incision made in the navel. For this reason, even immediately after the operation the scar remains at a level that is almost impossible to notice when looked at from the outside.

Especially for those who pay attention to their appearance, the robotic surgical method offers a great advantage over other methods and there is no need for any aesthetic intervention after the operation.

A Comfortable Postoperative Period With Robotic Surgery

The postoperative period is at least as difficult for patients as the operation itself. Difficult recovery processes are the reason why patients experience even greater difficulties at a time when they need to be psychologically at their strongest. However, thanks to robotic surgery, a comfortable environment is found for patients both during and after the operation.

The fact that the operation is performed through extremely small incisions means that the recovery process after the operation is shorter. In addition, the fact that these small incisions become too small to notice over time allows patients to feel more at ease both before and after the operation.
